What You Should Know about Removal Plantar Warts
Removal plantar warts are procedures that concern the elimination of rough and round lesions on the soles of the feet. While warts on the neck, the hands, and other parts of the body generally do not cause discomfort, plantar warts can get very painful since the soles of the feet are subjected to friction and pressure. If this kind of warts remains unresolved, it can grow into large numbers and subsequently give the patient difficulty in walking and running.
Plantar warts can be treated using the same medications for other types of warts. The procedures however require more attention and care because of the location of the infected area. Over the counter drug store products containing salicylic acid are the safest and most effective solutions for removal plantar warts. The acid comes in different forms and strengths, though for feet warts pads and gels are more recommended in order for the substance to penetrate more deeply.
Using traditional scrubbing devices such as nail files and pumice stones are advised so that the thick dead skin layers can be removed more quickly. Applying petroleum jelly is also recommended if the warts and the surrounding area get injured or inflamed. People who find it difficult to walk are also prescribed adhesive foot pads which can give the warts a room to breathe and at the same time make feet movements easier and more comfortable.
Moderate to severe cases of plantar warts can also be resolved though clinical surgery. Patients however will not be allowed to stand frequently for a few days since the treated area cannot be subjected to too much friction.
